When copying from one drawing to another only a 'C' appears

Hello,

Help required with copying polylines from one dwg to another.

When copy (using copy to clipboard or _copy) and pasting from one file to another, only a 'C' appears.

The layers are the same on both files and it is not a large amount being copied. Can anyone help?

Thanks,

Dominic

Hey,
Confirm whether all the layers are on and thawed first before copying

Those are very different things.  _COPY is for use only within the current drawing.  Read about it in Help.  If you are using that somehow [and not paying attention to what the prompts are asking for], and then getting into another drawing and Pasting, you will get whatever may be in the clipboard, but it won't  be what you selected in the COPY command [which has nothing  to do with the clipboard].
