Hi @Anonymous,

I see that you are visiting as a new member. Welcome to the Autodesk Community!

There are no built-in features of AutoCAD that address voice commands.  I suggest that if you need that type of functionality that a third-party application might need to be incorporated.

I am curious, and please excuse my ignorance, but AutoCAD is based on so visual elements I am not sure how one would work with it if they were totally visually impaired.  Can you explain how you intend on utilizing it?

AutoCAD will require more than voice recognition to interface with the blind.

That said,  Nuance NaturallySpeaking is nearly seamless for AutoCAD VR input.

Former construction trades student (has lost sight 4 years ago), wants the ability to manipulate design ideas for apparatus etc. for paralympics; with the ability to turn those designs over to mechanical design firm.

A voice command would be useful to, per say, to ask AutoCAD to "create a new layer called WALLS" and the layer window opens up and creates a new layer called "WALLS" and then you can adjust color or line-type manually.  This could be used for many other commands while your working away.  The coordination between visual and audio would be great.

And here we are paying Autodesk thousands of $$$$$$'s a year and I'm coming up with their ideas?! My fee for thiswill be 50 years of AutoCAD.

Many Thanks,

C.
