Vertical/horizontal align snap?

Hi people,

not sure the title conveys my need?

I opened up autocad to do some work and im usually able to copy a text to reformat and move it either vertically or horizontally and a green dotted line appears to tell me if i move it up it stays on the same alignment so it looks neat and text is uniform.  Well today i did it but it doesn't "snap" green just moves so my text isn't the same aligned????

Not sure if you guys understand but here is a picture, any directional advice helpful.

Im not good at this so telling me to adjust some weird thing that i cannot find wouldnt be helpful, a specific

A>B>C then activate would be good.

Hi,

>> a green dotted line appears

That sounds like you are missing polar track/object snap track ... therefor please make sure that you have an object snap active (from which the object track line can start) and tracking is activated:

Command _DSETTINGS +
