Variable "username"

the variable "username" seems to have been deleted from AutoCad.

i did use it as part of a date stamp in bottom of drawings to indicate the name of the drafter doing the job.

i can use "loginname" as a substitute but with so much networking and other password changes that the IT departments now invoke this variable becomes so changeable that it doesnt give the correct information.

Sometimes it can be just the persons intials like "ABC"  or even a generic name like "Drafter 17"

"loginname" is a windows based thing so doesn't bear relevance to AutoCad.

if the variable "username" was reinstated it helps with identifying people drawings.

cheers

Mick

Hi @Anonymous,

Thank you for joining us for Answer Day!

As an alternative, could you use the Field variable "LastSavedBy"?
