My AutoCAD command line window is off-screen. If you - by a mistake - tear off the AutoCAD command line window and drag it outside the visible part of your screen, you can try to get it back blindly with the arrow keys on your keyboard.

This method works for the floating command line window (palette), not for the text window invoked by the F2 key. If you are not sure whether the text window is displayed at the same time, enter the _GRAPHSCR command first.

1. Press the ESC key to terminate all commands
2. 1x press the TAB key
3. Press the key combination ALT+Space
4. 1x press the Arrow down key and then Enter (= the 'Move' function)
5. Now press repeatedly the arrow keys (up, down, left, right) to "hunt" your lost window back to the visible screen.

You can also retrieve it by editing the CUIx file.  Within the CUI dialog, edit the current workspace.

Select the 'Command Line' palette, and verify the settings in the area designated below as "2".

Years later, this helped me to get my command line back. It was offscreen at the bottom of my monitor. I changed the orientation from floating to bottom and it reappeared at the bottom of my Autocad window. So I can verify that this tip works for Autocad 2021. Thanks.

Also works for all kinds of obscure dialog boxes (for example, dynamic block User Properties within the block editor). When using multiple monitors or projectors, dialogs can often be left in places that aren't currently mapped so they seem unreachable. I keep this remedy in my spreadsheet full of helpful reminders.
