The slicing tool for 3d design

the slicing tool on the 2020 version isnt letting me pick 3 points for it to slice through. ive watched youtube videos on the tool but that was an older version. the thing that keeps happening is that it does not let me slice by picking three points but rather cuts parallel to the z axis all the time. does anyone know what im doing wrong or something?

Working well on my side ...

If that does not work on your side then please let us know what AutoCAD shows you as response in the command-line, it might help to upload the dwg-file too.
