text wider in AutoCAD 2021

I've got a title block with mtext and attributes.

The text shows correctly in ACAD 2020 and 2019.

In 2021 the text is significantly wider.

These screenshots are both taken directly after opening the same file.

Any ideas what the cause might be?

Check the shape of the "C" for example, it is not wider, it's another Font!

Thats normal if ACAD is not able to use the right Font.

Open your file, press [F2] and read about which Font is missing!

*.shx Fonts are AutoCAD files, you need to set a supportpath the the locations where the *.shx files are, or copy your *.shx to a Supportfolder.

*.TTF are Windows-Fonts, which you have to install on your windwos.

Did you chose to hide the alert that says SHX files are missing when you open a file in 2019/2020/2021? Its there to remind you when such issues appear, you have to choose to deliberately hide it for you to not see it.

What's the font name in 2019/2020 that is being used in that text? Find out of it is an SHX or TTF too, let us know if you need help moving it over to 2021.

Hi,

i think that your text lose Width Factor . would you try if  BATTMAN command can help you ?!! try to Synchronize your attributes and see if any changes .

I usually just dismiss that message manually.

Just going through the process, it only brings up 2 missing line styles not the missing font but F2 shows the missing font?

Is this behaviour correct?

Yes.

It would probably be more useful if they made the missing font discoverable from the warning prompt like those missing linestyles and missing xrefs are.

Thanks for your help
