Autocad - Inches equal to Meters problem

So I just broke the physics law somehow. I tried to change my dimension label from meters to inches. I found the method online by changing it into engineering in the unit format which really bring the unit symbol " to behind the measurement but while the numbers still remaining the same.

Look into the alternate units of your dimension style if you want to show inches and meters. HTH

im looking to swap from meters to inches. But the numbers displayed are erroneous. Just to clarify this a bit, the attached photo showed the measurement I  made with the dimension tool in Meters early on, followed by the measurement in inches after I modified the unit format into Engineering, and both have the exact same value even in different unit.

Hi,

I think you have understood that in the wrong way. For example, if you draw a line of length 10 without specifying any units(unitless) this length can be 10foot or 10 meters or 10mm, that's the reason in your are drawing 1.52 meter is still showing as 1.5". As in your screenshot changing the units from meter to inches alone won't change the measurement to inches. To change the whole drawing to be measured in inches you need to scale the whole drawing with scale factor 39.3701(1meter=39.3701 inches)

Type in the command "SCALE" and select the object and then specify the basepoint, then type 39.3701.
