Sequentially numbered blocks in AutoCAD

Anonymous
Not applicable

Hello,

I am working with my office's template here at work.  We use a pre-made block to number our workstations in our drawings.

The problem with what we are currently doing is that we have to edit each attribute within the block to have each workstation get numbered, i.e. 001, 002, 003 and so on.  Is there a way where I can create a block that would start at 001 and then each time I insert/click it would sequentially number them? That would save us hours of time.

Thank you!

Hi @Anonymous,

Here is an old but reliable routine by Jeffry Sanders that was posted on CADALYST in 11/05 (Tip2068).

The link in Imad's post didn't work for me but I believe it was to this routine from Lee Mac.
