Selecting Objects with a Crossing Line and change properties

Hi,
How do I select objects using a line and then change the colour or other properties of the objects selected?

I'm tried the Select > F to draw a line across objects to select. But this doesn't highlight the properties for me to change?

Any advise or other trick?

Hi,

I don't know what do you mean by " with a Crossing Line " .. But there is an express tool called Fast Select that you can use and see if it's help .

thanks but we have lots of objects at different elevations and directions hence drawing a line to then use FS will be just as long as selecting the objects manually.

If possible, I'd like to drawing a line on Select prompt...similarly to the below but then allow me to change the properties of the selected objects.

Hi,

what version are you using? Since Version 2011 the default setting for Select command is to select&highlight the result.

Variable: PICKADD=2

Try it again with object selection method F(ence), while pickadd is set to 2

Accepted solution

So your Pickadd is set to 2?

You can use Select command AND you can select whatever (see 'Select' feedback? while and after you ended the command - see Textscreen [F2])

Is ther 0 found or 1 and more found - message?

Simple way to show us what you trying to do:

Share a simple sample .dwg with a hand full objects in one color,

just some objects in question in another color, which one you want to select.

Simple way to show us what/why object selection method fence doesn't work,

share a screencast

I am sure we can help you, but first we need to be clear about what you need and why something is not currently working.

FYI - it was possible  before also (But I wanted to restore the default behavior for you first)

After Select->f like after every other time and way you selected object,

you can access the last selection set by selection method P / Previous selectionset

In Properties palette, press the button to add object seelction

and select the previous selection by type in

P<enter><enter>

or in copy move and other commands, doesn't matter how the object selection way made
