XREF File - (C)

First Referencing File - (A)

Next Referencing File - (B)

In the referencing drawing (A), it doesn't make any difference. The difference is when that drawing (A) is referenced into another drawing (B). If drawing (C) is set to ATTACH in drawing (A) and (A) is referenced into drawing (B) then (C) will be seen in drawing (B). When (C) is set to OVERLAY in drawing (A), reference drawing (C) will not be seen in drawing (B).

Drafting is a breeze and Revit doesn't always work the way you think it should.

Your wording is not very clear, but I think you've got it backwards.

I WANT TO ASK YOU SOMETHING ABOUT YOUR ANSWERS.I read the first answer and i read the second answer ,and i feel that there is a contrast

1.first answer ice_screenshot_20160505-155522.png

2.second answer

ice_screenshot_20160505-155450.pngwhen i press the button attach or overlay i read this informationsice_screenshot_20160505-155431.png

A.

i will expain better who is the contrast with my opinion .

If drawing (C) is set to ATTACH in drawing (A) and (A) is referenced into drawing (B) then (C) will be seen in drawing (B).

the contrast became with the second answer

If the xref to be shared among other drawings, then the best type for it is OVERLAY.

b.  the contrast became with the second answer

When (C) is set to OVERLAY in drawing (A), reference drawing (C) will not be seen in drawing (B).

the contrast contrast

if it is only part of the host drawing, not part of other drawings, then the best type for it is ATTACH.

Do i make mistake or not?

You are right. They are contradictory. If you read the help file, you can get AutoDesk's explanation, which will agree with what I said.

You should change the wording of your opinion or switch "overlay" and "attach". It is very misleading  especially coming from an expert elite.
