Problems with Touchscreen Input in Autocad 2019.0.1

When using the touchscreen to input lines, I am having two crosshairs on screen.  One at the proper location I am touching the screen, and another about 3 cms beneath.  This double input provides an unexpected behavior on most commands.  The offset distance and relation between the point I am touching, and the second crosshair is always the same.  When drawing a polyline and clicking multiple points along an horizontal line, without using the snap function, I get a sawlike profile.  When using a mouse or the touchpad, behavior is as expected.  I am using a surface pro tablet with normal Autocad.  I know it is not homologated hardware for Autocad, and I should expect performance issues, but the behavior should be normal. Thanks.  Beneath you can see an example of what multiple points along an horizontal line acomplish.Boceto (1).png

This behavior happens for any screen input: select, draw, etc.

Hi @Anonymous,

I see that you are visiting as a new member to the AutoCAD forum. Welcome to the Autodesk Community!

I haven't ever had access to a Surface Pro so I am resorting to some Internet searches. Have you tried using the Calibration utility inthe Windows Control Panel?

What happens in other graphics programs such as Paint 3D?

Hi,
Thanks for your prompt response. The offset I am experiencing happens only
in the drawing area. The cursor works very precisely in all other areas of
the program, as well as in other programs like paint 3d.
I know the surface is not certified for use in autocad, and because of
that, I was expecting to have certain limitations in use, but this is
obviously a glitch.
I tried the screencalibration, but the problem remains.
Regards.

AutoCAD for Windows is not a true mobile app and the Surface Pen combo has yet to be certified: since you cannot replicate the problem with a mouse or the touchpad it may have to be something you wait for Autodesk to acknowledge the Pen and certify its use.

I have the same problem the same with my Lenovo Yoga 720 and Active Pen 2. Thank you for reporting the issue here as I was going insane trying to figure out what was causing it. I thought the pen or screen digitizer was faulty but that was a silly conclusion as they worked perfectly elsewhere.

I uninstalled Autocad 2019 and installed 2017. Everything is working now so I will use that version. Thanks again 😄

Yes, it was a glitch with 2019.0.1. I tried Autocad 2017 and it worked fine, and now that version 2019.1 is out, it also works like a charm. Thanks.

Hi.  Thanks for your help. With 2019.1 the problem is fixed.
