Hi.

I have downloaded a student version of Autocad 2017 on my windows 10 computer.  The text within the properties tab and command window are large and overlapping. also my minimizing window tab and exit window tab are very  small. I have searched the "Autodesk help" but all the solutions did not resolve this problem. how can I fix this?

see photo to understand what I mean:

Try changing to a smaller text ratio...

I tried that it doesn't work ;(

The problem with the display is within the software itself and not with the windows properties I think.

AutoCAD requires a display resolution no greater than 1920x1080

I tried that too. I changed the resolution to be 1920x1080 and still did not chance anything.

Just wondering, but is the "text" in your "Layer Properties" correct, or is it large, like the font shown in the screenshot?

Hi Thank you I really appreciate the help, unfortunately I already tried everything that is written in this link you attached and still not working. It's an odd situation that I really don't know how to solve. Please keep trying to think of other solutions, I haven't given up yet.

if I understand your question correctly,

the text it self in the screen is normal size and I am able to modify it. The text in the properties tab is out of the correct scale... see new attachment:autocad problem 2.jpg

I have called Autodesk support service twice yesterday and today and they said that they will have a tech support agent call me back but so far no one has returned my call.

... text scaling also need to be at 100%: most of us have 4k displays and that works.

I'd be very surprised if your call-back tech support will do much more that set text scaling to 100% and/or lower your display resolution.

Hi.

So thanks to the Best-buy geek squad, the problem has been solved.  Yay!

This is what to do if you own a high resolution computer (like Alienware ) with windows 10;

1. right click anywhere on the windows screen

2. choose "display setting"

3. under the display setting bar (were you are able to change from 125% to 100% and so on... do not touch this)  there is an option to choose "advanced display setting"- choose this!

4. change resolution to 2048 x 1152

5. restart your computer!!! - this will not work unless you restart your computer

6. start the Auto-cad program and your done!

Thank You!  Praise the Lawd! This has been an aggravating issue for the last 3 years from day 1 of my new job with my issued tablet/laptop POS when disconnected from the docking station.  Our IT folks could not figure it out.
