problem with base tool

when selecting the base tool in the create view panel, and choosing from model space. the command line must read, select object or [entire model]

but when i do it, it says inventor server failed to load. and then the command line says move object. this is a student file, but i have tried it by using my own created 3D drawing and it does the same. i have attatched screenshots

can you please give me step by step instructions on how to check if the file is on the correct path. i have tried the exporttoautocad command. it did change the file name but stil gives me the same problem.

You can download after install all service pack and hotfix. I think solve your problem.

I suggest, you download AutoCAD 2014 on http://students.autodesk.com/. Uninstall your AutoCAD and after reinstall.

Start your AutoCAD, start command _ABOUT and upload the screenshot from that dialog (mask the serial if there is one).

So we know what product you are using exactly.

i have also tried uninstalling and installing from http://students.autodesk.com/. it still does the same. i must write my exam in march hope you can help me please. here is the screenshot you requested

Hi,

strange, I guess there is a lot of things to test now, but that needs some knowledge about operating system.

Especially that the service pack installer shows that the basic product is not found makes me thinking that either the installation is defect or the registry is defect (cleaned with cleaning/optimizing tools).

As you are student, download the AutoCAD 2016, install it (inluding SP1) and see if that works then. Your drawings you have created yet are working well with 2016.

Make sure that you download the release instead of installing it directly from Internet. Then login as administrator, turn off antivirus and start the installation from the downloaded file(s).

you don't need to uninstall any previous release, But if you plan to do that then uninstall it before installing the new release (and make sure the uninstall process is a clean one like described >>>here<<<).
