Turn off lineweights.

Type in LWDISPLAY and set it to OFF.

There may be a button in your status bar to toggle this setting, but it's not turned on by default.

Thanks... I did that, it was set to off. Meanwhile I changed the resolution for my screen and it "fixed it". But I changed it from the recommended resolution. So I don't think that was it either

Can you post a screenshot of your screen then? Is it doing it for ALL drawings or this one?

Seems like the lineweight display is turned on. You said it's off, but do you mean it was just not checked in the drop down picture shown by Rk? Checking that doesn't turn it on. What it does is add the button to the bottom tool bar. You need to check it and then shut the button off it adds to the toolbar. Either that or type the command. You might have done that all but just checking as we have no idea how well you know autocad. We get many very novice questions here.

Can you post the dwg of the screenshot you posted so we can look and see?

Does it change if you change the visual style to something else such as 2D Wireframe?

same file. but copied elements before the issue started . I had copied the elements to use multiple time in same drawing. as soon as i click on one line, they all change to bold. also, before they change, if  i click on a line, it gets this "shadow around it.

Accepted solution
  • Right-click on the Model Tab.
  • Select Page Setup Manager
  • Click the Modify button
  • In the upper right corner, UNcheck "Display Plot Styles".
  • Close out of the dialogs.
  • Ensure that LWDISPLAY is still OFF.
  • It should be good at this point.
