Multi Leader Style won't center Lower case letters

I created a Bill Of Materials and note numbering/lettering Multileader Style that won't center around lower case letters. Block that the style was created from is on the right and Multileader on left. Any idea how to get my lower case "A" to center in my Multi Leader Style? I have attached the (dwg) block used to create.

Hi @jryan4GYAA,

I see that you are visiting as a new member to the AutoCAD forum. Welcome to the Autodesk Community!

Thank you for sharing the file. I see that you have used a the block in the multileader. Can you share the steps you used to create it? If you could provide a ScreenCast, that would help.

All the best,

Cheryl,

Like people used to say on A.M. Talk shows. Longtime listener (or in this case Autocad) First time caller (contributor). Thanks for getting back with me so soon. I have downloaded and learned how to Screencast. I have uploaded it per your request.

Hi @jryan4GYAA,

Thanks! Do you have the link that you can share? I'll be off-line in a few but would be happy to take a look tomorrow.

Does it make a difference if you use Middle-Center justification for the Attribute, rather than Middle?  [I doubt it, but just in case....]

Ken,

I just tried putting the block back to middle center and it does not effect the Multi-Leader Style. The only way I have found to solve my problem is to create a second MLS that uses a different block which is offset to compensate for the error. I was trying to avoid in the first place. If this was just myself and the other drafters in our company using it that wouldn't be so much a problem. However this is part of a template I am creating for multiple companies to use and I don't have direct communication with any of them to express the work around.

[Are they willing to go with capital letters?]

We are using this for standards documents for a local utility. We use numbers for BOM (Bill of Materials) items, Upper cased letters for Instructions, Roman numerals for Notes and Lower cased letters for References. So I am kinda stuck.

It will center if you add a letter like b.

What you see seems to be a bug in AutoCAD.

For reference see What is Line Space Style in mtext in CAD?

A workaround would be to make the attdef multiline and manually move it so it looks centered.

The thing that bugs me the most is that the original block is not a problem its when it is used as a multi-leader Style were it falls apart.multileader discussion.JPG

I agree. You can let Autodesk know about it here

Hi @jryan4GYAA,

I apologize for the long delay in getting back to you. I thought I had posted that I was reaching out on this.

Yes, as @JTBWorld mentioned, it does seem to be specific to only certain letters in specific fonts.  The Product Feedback link would be the best way to report the issue.

In the mean time, you might try using a different font.

Unfortunately This is not an option for us. The client has a specified font that is required and this affects thousands of pages in hundreds of drawings. So for now I will stick to the work around that I came up with which to create a second block and multi-leader style with the text shifted to compensate for the error. Then switch back and forth when needing to adjust.

Thanks for your time on this matter.
