I'm trying to convert some 20 year old .dwg files to PDF, and some content isn't rendering. Looks like some of the content shown in Layout1 is actually on the DEFPOINTS layers. This is 100% a mistake, it's the drawing title block. Other .dwgs in the same set are plotting the same title block just fine.

My question is, do I need to install the full-blown AutoCAD set just to move some objects from one layer to another? Is there a simpler/cheaper way to do it?

All that you need is a program that can edit .dwg files. There are many and come in different flavors. Some may suit your needs, others, not so much.

Share a file and you might get a more direct answer.

Drafting is a breeze and Revit doesn't always work the way you think it should.

Hello @texas_ed

You can download the trial version of the AutoCAD and do it for yourself or upload the drawing so that we can help you out 🙂

Since you need to move objects from one layer to another, then free dwg viewers which only allow you to view and plot does not give you the option to modify. You’ll have to install at least AutoCAD LT or some other compatible dwg editor to perform this operation.
