Inserting views without SSM

Okay, I will start by defining what I know and use it.

I know how to place views on a page using SSM, What I do not know is how I could do the same without SSM within the same drawing.

SSM features are not available outside of SSM.

May I ask, is this a "I don't have access to the SheetSet" or a "I want to avoid using SSM" issue? or something else?

You can use the VIEW command and create a view in model space and insert it into a paper space layout in the same drawing file using the  Insert View button on the layout tab of the ribbon.
