How to explode/split a custom linetype in autocad for laser cutting?

Hello forum users,

I am having trouble exploding line types created in autocad, which I need to do for laser cutting files and also for cardboard die-making. When I create the line in autocad (for example 10 mm perforation, 10 mm space), it appears as a continuous line when exported to  Adobe illustrator and also in the lasercutter's software. If I try to break this line in Illustrator, it creates a double-line.

Any tips anyone?

Many thanks

Lines can't be exploded in AutoCAD into their linetype fragments OOTB.

Hello Patchy, I'm attaching the linetypes on a autocad file and a word doc with some print screens. Many thanks!

Download this LineX.lsp (unzip it)

While in autocad drawing, command INSUNITS  and set it to 0

Then type in LineX, and select the line(s)

I have loaded the LISP on the CUI. Do I type the expression 'lineX' or do I open the visual LISP editor? Soory ,ot clear on this part. Thanks!

Use the command APPLOAD and browse to where you stored the LineX.lsp

Then you have the command LineX to use.

No need to do anything in the CUI
