Help with choosing a laptop for AutoCAD

Hi, my daughter was asked to get a laptop that runs AutoCAD, and we were looking for different options and we found these two on our budget:

https://simple.ripley.cl/hp-14-cf0005la-intelr-coretm-i5-20gb-memoria-16gb-intelr-optanetm-4gb-ram-1...

https://www.falabella.com/falabella-cl/product/6831013/Notebook-AMD-Ryzen-R5-1TB-RAM-12GB-15.6-/6831...

I know it's in Spanish, so I will write down the specifications down here:

-First Notebook HP:  ($514 USD)

Brand: HP
System: Windows 10
Processor type: Intel® Core® i5
Processor Model: Intel® Core ™ i5-8250U
Processor Speed (GHz) 1.6
Memory: 20 GB of memory (16 GB Intel® Optane ™ + 4 GB of RAM)
Memory Type: RAM DDR4 2400 SDRAM
Hard Disk Capacity: 1 TB
Hard Disk Type: 5400 RPM
Touch screen: No
Screen (inches) 14
Video card: AMD Radeon ™ 530 DDR5 2GB

-Second notebook Acer:   ($440 USD)

Processor: AMD RYZEN R5
Video card model: AMD Radeon Vega 8
Screen size: 15.6 inches
Hard Disk HDD: 1TB
SSD solid state drive: Does not apply
Core processor: Quad Core
Processor speed: 2.0 GHz
Processor model: 2500U
RAM memory: 12GB
Expandable RAM: Yes
System: Windows 10 Home

Thank you!

Of those two, I would go with the one with the faster processor speed and the larger screen size.

>>These<< are the computer specs for AutoCAD 2020.

And if you can get one with an SSD you'll be better off for it.

If you want a laptop that will run AutoCAD nicely, you'd want to spend around $1000 for it, but honestly, if she will not be working on large project and it's just for learning AutoCAD, both of those laptops will suffice. AutoCAD isn't very demanding. I was previously working on a very old PC for almost 5 years before I decided to upgrade it to something more modern. The only specs I would suggest as a minimum is 4 cores, try to go with something that will go at least 3.5GHz boost speed (more the better), 8GB of RAM and an SSD. Graphics cards are not relevant for AutoCAD.

If it's only between the two you posted I would go with your second option... I would still want more ram and processor speed.

I would too pick the Ryzen laptop over the other one and just spend an extra ~$50 and put an SSD in it.
