Hi guys, first time posting here and hoping for some help and/or clarity.

I have this "object"/thing that I want to convert to a surface and then extrude (so I can 3D print it). But I do not recognize what this "object"/thing is, I cannot edit it no matter what I try.

It was an export from Illustrator (DWG file).

Thank you and sorry in advance for the dumb question 😕

Hi @xanderlubbe

Just EXPLODE the block then EXTRUDE and SUBTRACT etc.

Yes. Explode the block then Delete the Hatch.

Make a Layer for Hatch.

Then select everything, Right click Properties.

Change the Hatch to your new Hatch layer.

Turn off the HATCH.

Now you only have the lines to deal with to extrude.

Hope this helps.

JRR.

For future reference, you can tell what any selectable object is by just [by default] hovering over it and waiting a second or two.  If that feature is turned off, you can select it, right-click, and pick Properties or Quick Properties from the bottom of the list that comes up, either of which will report to you what kind of object it is.  And there's the LIST command that will do the same.
