Having the dimension line at specified distance from the measured line,
This is the second time I’m highlighting this isssue
In the attached screenshots, I wanted the dimension line to be at 0.4 meter from the measured line but sounds not to work.
As the AutoCAD prompts for the “specify dimension line location or” I typed “0.4” but the dimension line is located at 0.36 from the measured line.
What might be the issue here?
Thank you

Using 2013, I get similar results. After several trials, some dragging the dim above the object, some dragging the dim below, the results were consistently inconsistent. I cannot tell what AutoCAD is doing, or how it decides where to actually locate the dim line.

I think I can help with that one. The distance you type is the distance from the 2nd pick point, through the cursor at the moment you press <enter>
To place the dimline at a specific distance, pause long enough to set a tracking point then pull away in the desired distance before entering the offset distance.
Many thanks nestly for the help. It works fine and resolve my issue.
Thanks are extended to dmfrazier and Saadallah
