Drawing Lines between points on different planes

I just want to create a line between two different points I have created.  However, the points are on a different Z coordinates.  So if I start the line at Z = 0 I am being forced to end on Z = 0.  Even though the x and y are correct I can't get the second end point to not be zero.

I have autocad civil 3D and am working in 3D modeling.

Hi,

No, a line can have diffent Z values, speaking about Civil 3D ... also feature lines can have different Z values.

The limitation you might see is if you use polyline instead of line, then yes, a polyline is a 2D object.

Thanks Alfred, I thought I had tried that.  I was going mad.
