Double Click Edit Mtext issues

I was able to double click on Mtext and it would instantly go into edit mode. Now if I double click on mtext I need to select the mtext again for it to go into edit mode. Anyone know what variable it is to go back to my original setting?

My current variable settings are the following: What else am I missing? 

dblclkedit = 1

pickfirst = 1

[pendean]

Get a new mouse? PC?
Did you restart your PC yet? Always the first thing to try.

No new mouse/PC. Yes, the PC was restarted.
