Dome feature

Hi,
Is there any way to perform dome on a face?
Thank you.

Hi @shahriarsifat1802164

I think there are several ways to create a dome.

You can either use, REVOLVE command or LOFT command. see below videos for your reference.

Hope this is helpful. thanks

Am I correct that the "face" in question is not circular?  [A circular face could have a SPHERE built on it, and SLICEd in half.]  If it's elliptical, see >this<.

You are right. It's not circular rather spherical.

I meant the face that you want to build a dome onto -- "circular" is a 2D characteristic, but "spherical" is a 3D characteristic.  In the image, it looks like the cross-section of what I assume is something like a mug handle is not circular, so the flat face on the end is not, either.  If that's right, and if it's an elliptical cross-section and face, it would mean you don't want a half-sphere on the end of it, but a half-ellipsoid [see the link in my previous Reply to learn how you can make that].

You could make a SPHERE, SLICE it in half, define the half-sphere as a BLOCK, and INSERT it on the face using different scale factors to make it elliptical.  But then you would not be able to join it as a 3D Solid to the handle or the mug with UNION, because you can't EXPLODE a Block containing a 3D Solid if its scale factors are not equal.
