Cursor Lags

Hi everyone,

I am using AutoCAD 2022 and I have this annoying problem, my cursor, when it is in the model space, it starts lagging. It happens only when I am in the model space. I checked online and someone said "turn off Hardware Acceleration", it worked but I needed to use the point cloud, so it is not a good choice for me.  I deactivate some feature suggested in this forum, it didn't work. I updated my graphic card and nothing.

there is a way to use the point cloud without the mouse lag? I almost try everything I read on this forum, but nothing works. Until yesterday I used 2021 and I never had this problem.

Thank You

Stefano

Accepted solution

Set GFXDX12 to 0 and restart AutoCAD.

I've got the same issue here on a Nvidia Quadro RTX 3000 card.

Reverting to DirectX11 fixes the problem here.

Best regards,

Øystein Wiger

@armenC888A If you type GFXDX12 at the commandline, set the variable to 0, then restart AutoCAD the problem should go away.  You could also disable hardware acceleration.

I'm trying to solve the same problem in TrueView 2022 and this is the only info I've found so far but it's not possible to type the mentioned commands and I can't find anything in the options either.

I am having the same problem with 2022, and have set the GFXD12 to 0 and have hardware acceleration off, but the problem still persists, the cursor lags whilst only in model space. I didn't have any problems with previous versions and am using the 2022 version through the cloud so thought it was that originally. Are there any other solutions?

@Anonymous Do you have the 2022.1 update?
Also go through this long list of things to try https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/autocad/troubleshooting/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/Cursor-is-slow-or-jerky-in-AutoCAD.html

I'm assuming it is fully up to date, it's through my work and I started the job at the beginning of last month. When was the update released? I've tried the status bar and autowrap options but it didn't seem to make a difference; I like those turned on anyway. I can't do things like graphics performance / drivers as it's not my own PC. I use a Chromebook provided by the company and am accessing the cloud version of  Autocad on a Windows server.

Thanks

Well there is a bit of important information we all could have used hours ago 😉
Contact your IT, there is nothing in AutoCAD to address your issue, you have an IT issue after you try these https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/autocad/troubleshooting/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/pannin...

I've been told by the IT people that the internet speed is not an issue. The cursor works fine when it's not in the black model space. There is no cursor lag or slowness when navigating around the area at the top where the tabs / command thumbnails are, it's only when I move it into the model space. That's an IT issue?

I can confirm this issue on AutoCAD 2022.1. The cursor is laggy in the black drawing canvas, but on the other panels it is OK. It is using DirectX12. Also the cursor in the black drawing canvas in the AutoCAD 2021 is perfectly smooth and responsive.
