I have been drafting since high school and recently hit the 15 year mark. I'm 32 and honestly getting bored of opening up Autocad and drafting. My new job has been helping me with my boredom since its something different everyday but its still drafting related. I have so many years in the game and I really don't want to throw away my years of experience. I went from CAD operator to Manager and currently titled CAD Specialist. I don't see where I can go from here. My wife and I are trying to have a family and I'm nervous when the time comes I'll be stuck and that to me is pretty scary. Any advice will be appreciated.

Also, it's never too late to go back to school (local or online, evenings/parttime) to get that degree that will free you up from drafting too. Its never too late to change directions. Forget that bullcr*p about following your passion, crack open a few of those job-seeking websites and go to job fairs in your area and see what might interest you, dive in, get your feet wet, explore. At 32 you are too young to give up.
