Can't view text when typing

When I'm typing text, I get a white box that completely covers everything I type.  The box does not disappear until I hit return twice and end the text command.

Try to change this system variable as :

Command: DTEXTED
Enter new value for DTEXTED <1>: 2

Mine was set to 2, I changed it to 1, and it works.  Thanks.
