Burst a block without explode the graphic part

Hi all,

if I have a block with attributes, is it possible with command burst (or other commands) convert attributes in texts and, at same time, not explode the graphic part of the block?

Hi

1, Two Lips Upload to convert attributes in texts Find the attachment.

2, Block with attributes does not work in this Lips, Only BURST can use (if Allow Exploding is Yes)

Hi,

if these lisps don't work with block with attributes (as you wrote), why you posted them?

Hi,

there is no standard command available which can do that. You might run BURST in a copy of that file to get the texts created from attribute values and copy/paste the text objects back to the original dwg-file (and clean the attribute values there).

BUT ... may I ask what for that is done, that only destroys a structure and I can't see the profit in doing that.

Understanding the background of that need might bring up some alternatives 😉

Hi Alfred,

in my drawing, I have to copy inputs from other designers. One of them uses block with more attributes for the definition of the code of items (example YYY/XXX). The problem is that: if i want move the code of one of this item (because, for example, it overlaps other items) i have to move 3 attributes separately (first is "YYY", second is "/", third is "XXX") with loss of time and accuracy. For that reason, I apply command burst on block and then I join the 3 texts for obtain one only to move as I want, but meanwhile the blocks are exploded, weighting the file .

Hi,

can you please upload a drawing that has some of the source block items + on a different layer a text with the visibility you need to create from the blocks?

Just a feeling: the formula XXX/YYY can be simply done by a field, nothing needed to be exploding/bursting/... (maybe).

The OPs issue is with blocks containing attributes. Your LISP routines are useless for the OP, if they don't work with attributes.

Drafting is a breeze and Revit doesn't always work the way you think it should.

@jayhar hi,

Why are you referring to LISPS in this instance?  Its a block in its entirity...so block editor opens the block.  @luigiverdenicoIf you can find out if there are nested blocks it would be beneficial, but i think in this instance it may be that the text and graphics are united into one big block, so BURSTING them burst everything.  I would create a copy of the block first and then burst one and move the text over from the bursted and get rid of the graphics bursted so they dont weigh the file.
