Hi,

Using "dell inspiron 13 5000 2in1 " as search criteria gives too many different results and configurations.

Either send us a link to the exact configuration of your system or send us all technical specs of that system if you want to have an answer like "yes" or "no".

The i5 could be enough, but it also depends on graphic card, memory, and most important: what types of drawings are your working with (small 2D or large 3D or ...)?

The system requirements say that the basic processor speed should be around 2.5ghz. This one is 1.6ghz with turboboost up to 3.4ghz. So would it work fine if my primary use is for engineering drawing/graphics ???

the model I m referring to: https://www.amazon.com/Dell-Inspiron-5000-Theoretical-i5379-5893GRY-PUS/dp/B0764LNTCZ/ref=cm_cr_arp_...

Hi,

>> The system requirements say that the basic processor

>> speed should be around 2.5ghz. This one is 1.6ghz with

>> turboboost up to 3.4ghz.

The cpu speed with "up to 3.4GHz" is not the problem when you look to the "minimum system requirements"

>> primary use is for engineering drawing/graphics

Sorry that I don't have an idea about what you see as "engineering drawings". That can be simple 2D drawings or complex 3D drawings.

>> the model I m referring to

What I'm missing in the computer specs you showed is a graphic card that is build to work with CAD-systems.

The Intel HD graphics is not a gc for CAD; you might do some small 2D drawings, but neither the performance nor the driver compatibility is the best to be used with CAD systems.

When this computer should be used 8 hours a day to work with CAD then I would say no, that is not a valid device to do that work. But again, that depends on drawing types you create as well as how important and how often will AutoCAD be used on that system.

If this is for school, you could get away with it for some simple first/second semester work or you have only a couple of token drafting classes.  If you are taking something more involved e.g. architectural or mechanical engineering you'll rapidly outgrow it.

Hi,

it's a different processor, also without deticated graphic card and we don't know what type of work you are going to work with AutoCAD.

Let me compare it with that question: will that saw work well?

20180815_173045.png

Without telling you if I want to use it once a year for small pieces of wood or in daily manner to cut trees you would not be able to answer my question.

We are in the same situation, we don't know how often and which type of work you will do, but you are asking if a specific tool can do that!
