When editing drawings we still want ISAVEBAK=1.
We have set up MasterConcept to use AutoCAD Core Console for automatic updates, such as publishing a PDF of approved drawings. When publishing batches of drawings there is no interest for autosave of each drawing and no need for BAK files. We want to inactivate saving those bak-files. Figured a good way to do that would be to use a separate profile with ISAVEBAK=0.
As long as the script to perform plot to pdf is sent to regular AutoCAD (acad.exe) it works fine. Same calls via AutoCAD Core Console (AcCoreConsole.exe) successfully plots a pdf but it does not regard ISAVEBAK being set to off. For testing I used the same profile, same calls and got different results.
Is there a limitation preventing ISAVEBAK and Core Console to be used together?

Hi,
did you mean that you set ISAVEPERCENT=0?
Are you saving your files locally or on a network? If a network, can you describe the network type/environment?
You are welcome to attach some sample files that show the problems.
Thanks
Jayhar
Hi Jayhar,
From AutoCAD point of view files are stored and saved locally.
I have not changed ISAVEPERCENT. It is default, 50.
I have set ISAVEBAK=0.
When using usual graphical AutoCAD no bak files are saved. (According to setting.)
When using AutoCAD Core Console bak files are saved. (Disregard of setting.)
Problem is AutoCAD Core Console is not affected by the ISAVEBAK setting.
Br,
Johan
Can you include the ISAVEBAK =0 in the batch file before the plot command? Sorry, I don't know a lot about the Core Console program but if the profile doesn't appear to be working I would try it inside the batch file and see if it is being ignored.

i can tell you it should working well, so i am thinking you had made a mistake in testing.
But i don't have all needed information, so i can not say what your mistake was/is.
Independent the question "why" I WHOULD ever set all important settings from inside the script
because the normal User can edit the profile.
In this current case i agree with @neaton to set isavebak=0 before saving.
and if you start the acc in /isolate mode, you don't need to set things back.
It takes much more time to find the mistake than the instructions on how to do it, but if you like it, ask!
but then share your script and the way how you start the acc (via bat/cmd/vbs/othe code, please share this too)

Thank you for the information! That got me on to the right track.
The calls to AutoCAD/AcCoreConsole are made from another application and digging further in that end I have come to the conclusion different versions were used and as a result the changes I made were not to the same profile that was in play. Changes to a profile in AutoCAD 2018 does not affect a 2019 profile with the same name.
