Hi, We have a client we are looking to move away from an on-prem server. We were thinking of using SharePoint Online to store their AutoCAD files. I don't believe they have very large files and only about 3 users use the software. Has anyone had any success using SharePoint and AutoCAD? Just curious if this is a viable option or not.
Hi,
without additional tool, think about:
No file locking
No absolut pathes,
so you have to use relative pathes where it is possible
features without this ability, day good bye (it will work if you have no need to share a file with multiple users)
Publish-lists for example, dataextraction dxe and more.
You have to set "always offline" or always sync (I don't know the right therm),
otherwise relative references won't work(because not available).
Have fun
Sebastian

SharePoint is no panacea, learn from others mistakes here:

Plus a 3rd party not-free fix
Or Autodesk's offering
