Is there a way to assign a coordinate system in basic AutoCad? I know how it works in Civil and Map but have been asked if it is possible in AutoCad. Any and all ideas are appreciated.
I think the OP is asking about real-world coordinate systems - State Plane etc. since he referenced Map.
The GEO command can assign a coordinate system, but in terms of mapping and civil, it's not useful. If the OP doesn't want to invest in Map3d or Civil3d, then possibly look into a 3rd party tool such as Mapworks from DotSoft.
