Converting surface to matrix of values

Hi, I was wondering if I can recreate a CAD model in MATLAB or Jupyter Notebook, and I was thinking about using mesh() to plot the surface. However, I don't know if there's a way to parse a surface in CAD so it becomes a matrix of values. Thanks!

Welcome to Autodesk Forums!

Hi Yuchen,

It is not possible in plain AutoCAD at least without programming.
Civil 3D can make this for sure, but it is a separate application which is available only on PC, not on Mac.

Hi Maxim,

Thank you so much for your response! I actually have access to a PC with Civil 3D, so I was wondering can you tell how to do this in AutoCAD Civil? Thank you so much, I really appreciate it!

I'm not Civil 3D specialist, but you can ask your question on Civil 3D Forum.
Here are a couple of posts related to your question (as I think):
