Autocad LT2024 - Keyboard shortcut problem with Azerty keyboards

Hello,

I use Autocad for Mac with an Azerty keyboard. The new version 2024 does not take into account the correct arrangement of the keyboard keys for the following shortcuts at least:

  • ⌘A
  • ⌘W
  • ⌘Q

These shortcuts only work with the location of the keys on the Qwerty keyboard.

It's really not practical.

It would be necessary to quickly correct this problem (which does not exist with previous versions of Autocad) or do you know a method to correct the problem?

Sincerely.

We see this issue on 2024 version and we are working on a fix. Will update when a fix is available.

I am experiencing an issue where the escape key doesn't cancel commands. It thinks escape is a shortcut for the Copy command. Anybody else experiencing this? This was the default as soon as I installed ACAD LT for Mac 2024. Very frustrating… I've tried updating the macro to map ^C to the cancel command, but still is not working.

Hi, same problem here.

Fixed it this way:

It is possible to set custom shortcuts via Tools > Customize > Interface > Shortcuts.

For some reason AutoCAD doesn't accept setting for example "Undo" to "CMD+Z" and keeps "CMD+W".

However changing it to some other value (i.e. "CMD+SHFT+A") creates a custom shortcut file under "/Users/<USERNAME>/Library/Application Support/Autodesk/AutoCAD LT 2024 Standalone/R24.3/roaming/CUI/Accelerator.cui"

You can edit this file with a text editor (textEdit on mac).

Custom shortcuts now have extra fields AccelChar="XX" en AccKeys="XX" (see "Position" 97 to 102).
Now you can change every shortcut to the wanted value, but pay ATTENTION: A=Q and Z=W!!

Hello,

I don't think it's a satisfactory solution. There have never been these problems with previous versions. And some shortcuts are common to all applications. It is very difficult to change your habit with the years.

I agree, this is no permanent solution.
Hope Autodesk will fix this quickly...
But for me at least this way I can still use CMD+Z and CMD+SHFT+Z for 'undo' and 'redo'...
