AutoCAD LT for Mac Custom Font Issues | Josefin Sans

I have continually had this issue (specifically with AutoCAD LT 2022 and Newer) where often my text (Josefin Sans) don't read correctly, specifically the Regular font style, and reads as a 'wire-frame' (it's assigning a default text to the standard). This issue create formatting issues when the thickness is not correct.

Sometimes it works, reads correctly, but after a month or so if I restart my computer or CAD starts slowing and I close it, the issue often comes back and I restart my computer 10-15 times before the issue is resolved (if resolved). Per previous discussion with @maxim_k, he advised I download the font and only upload Regular, Italic, Bold, and Bold Italic into my font book, which I have done.

The issue seems lie within more recent version of AutoCAD LT for Macs as see the snapshots below taken at the same time. 2019 reads CORRECTLY and 2022 & 2023 read as a 'wire-frame' as if the font is not being picked up. NOTE: When I plot/publish, the graphics of the Josefin Sans Regular font are correct...however when setting up the files and sheets, the formatting is the issue when reading thinner than the actual.

Can anybody help me with lasting solution?

@helloWYGL9 ,

looks like there is a problem with this font on OS level, more precisely at the user level of the main account.

Are you able to use JosefinSans fonts in other applications - TextEdit.app, Pages.app or in other text editor - when you are in your main account?

@maxim_k

Yes, the JosefinSans fonts work on other applications I use - Pages.app, Adobe Suite (Photoshop, Indesign, etc.).

I believe I have mentioned this before (possibly under a different thread) but when AutoCAD isn't reading it correctly (replaces with Simplex - without noting the error) if I plot, the PDF comes in with JosefinSans correctly (the only problem is the formatting is all messed up because it's replacing the SimpleX).

Yes, I saw - you wrote about it.

Sorry, I have no more ideas....

I give up!

@maxim_k

I appreciate all of your help! Luckily your suggestion to add a new user, worked and I can operate in CAD under that user as needed.

Cheers!
