Apple has announced the next OS X El Capitan earlier today, and the first preview version is already available for app developers. AutoCAD team is starting to analyze the compatibility on this OS and preparing to fix the potential issues.

Some of AutoCAD users may have access to the El Capitan preview version, and would like to test AutoCAD on it. Please kindly post any of your findings in this thread, that would help other users and also the AutoCAD team.

Please include the following info in your posts for reference:

-OS X version(for example, DP1 15A178w)

-AutoCAD version

Thanks,
The AutoCAD for Mac Team

Crashing with the same El Capitan build as you and LT14 seems to be when I
insert either a template or text. It can work for quite a while and
then.......poof !

I dont believe you can, its compatability issues with the Beta programme
and Autocad. You will either have to wait for it to be resolved or ( like
me ) go back to using Yosemite.

It has'nt been setup to use the usual keystrokes to exit full screen, yet.

Remember this is a Beta, improvements will come to pass.

In the mean time, goto your screen corner that you have set to show apps that are running.

Then hover over the screen icon of AC and a set of arrows pointing inward will show up.

Click on the arrows and then click on the AC item that appears and your screen will come back as a normal view.

I know it's an hassle to do this versus the keystrokes, but don't give up.

Many Thanx Autocad Team,

P.S. "I am waiting for some updates for Autocad 2015, which will be working with El Capitan."

Best Regards,

Ugur

I am using AutoCAD 2015 with the latest OS X El Capitan GM Candidate for commercalization (Macbook Pro Retina Intel HD Graphics 4000)

and it is still constantly crashing: either just by opening a new file, or when I want to add layers (!) - any updates on the problem? Thank you for your help...

Autocad LT 2014 is highly unstable and not usable with El Cap. I guess I'll just have to wait and cross my fingers. Otherwise, I'll have to go back to Windows version, which would suck

Don't return to the Windows version if you son't have to...  Especially since the LT subscription is $45/mo (1 month at a time) or $30/mo if you pony up for a full year.  I'm right on the edge of starting up another month.  Since I'm running 10.11.1b1, and the Mandalore Beta is moving along, perhaps the situation has resolved itself...

I have gone back to Yosemite. . But LT 2014 works perfectly now. I will
wait for the situation with El Capitan to be resolved.

I'm not surprised by the issues. Typical AutoCAD/desk... behind as usual with MAC support/updates - where is 2016 btw? The years almost over...

As far as OS X El Capitan 10.11 compatability, is there anything new to report since it's officical release as of today? I was about to upgarde from Yosemite 10.10.5, on iMac '08, using AutoCAD LT 2015 (Desktop Subscription). Reading about OS X El Capitan system requirements I wasnt that worried about third-party apps until I read this and other posts on here. Although I still feel confident it'll run w/o any hiccups.
