AutoCad 2024 LT crashes several times per day

My Autocad 2024 LT version for Mac crashes several times per day.

My current version is: LT 2024 1.1

Am I the only with crashing issues ?

Some text fonts also are very difficult to select and only can be selected or moved etc. when I give a regen command.

If I want to continue working for a day I better fall back to a previous installed version like 2022 or 2023.

I appreciate any way of help to solve this.

Thanks, Peter Bakker

Try setting GFXDX12 to 0

If that doesn't help run GRAPHICSCONFIG command & try changing the 2D Display Settings to one of the other modes.

Last option is to disable Hardware Acceleration

Exact MacOS version is...?
Files are stored where? And you access that location how?
Are 2022 and 2023 also installed on the same device?

Hi @pbje2S92L ,

As @pendean asked - please specify your macOS version.

>>>>>My Autocad 2024 LT version for Mac crashes several times per day.

Does it crash under certain actions or randomly?

>>>>Some text fonts also are very difficult to select and only can be selected or moved etc. when I give a regen command.

Try to set DTTEXT System Variable to 0 (zero) and test text selection.

Hi Maxim, thanks for your reply.

My Mac OS version is Ventura 13.6.1

I still have to install Sonoma, but I wanted to wait until the next Sonoma update.

I never had these kind of crashes with the previous versions like 2022/2023.

I will try the system variable for true type fonts set to 0 and check if this helps.

Thanks, Peter Bakker

Forgot to mention that I am getting the impression that crashing happens randomly. But I will try to write down when this happens.

If AutoCAD LT 2024 for Mac is crashing frequently, try these steps:

  1. Check System Requirements:
Ensure your Mac meets AutoCAD LT 2024 requirements.
  2. Update AutoCAD LT:
Install the latest updates from Autodesk to address bugs.
  3. Graphics Card Drivers:
Update your graphics card drivers for compatibility.
  4. Workspace and Profile:
Create a new user profile or workspace to rule out corruption.
  5. Fonts and Plugins:
Verify font compatibility and disable third-party plugins.
  6. Check for Known Issues:
Visit Autodesk forums for known issues and solutions.
  7. Contact Support:
If issues persist, contact Autodesk support for assistance.
  8. Reinstall or Roll Back:
Consider reinstalling or reverting to a stable version like 2022 or 2023.

Hi @seosebt11 ,

Your recommendations are basically correct, with some exceptions:

1/ >>>>Update your graphics card drivers for compatibility.

There is no separate graphics card drivers updates on Mac. If they happen, then only as part of a macOS update.

2/>>>>Create a new user profile or workspace to rule out corruption.

You cannot create user profiles in AutoCAD for Mac, there is no such functionality on Mac.
