I am trying to copy the supplied templates, rename, and move them.

A real quick question first off which will allow us to help you better...

What release of ACADE are you using?

Including this information in your questions will lead to quicker answers as each release of ACADE has some major differences from the prior releases.

To track down a problem or to answer a How-To question requires us to know which release we should be looking at and as much other information as possible (workflow which causes the problem as an example).

Now several questions that may help...

Did you add the new location to the list of Trusted Locations?

How did you set the path and file? Did you browse to the file or just type it in?

NOTE - Browsing is better as there is no chance of a error in the typing.

Did you close and restart ACADE after changing the file settings?

Have you shut down and restarted the computer?

Try opening the files after navigating to them manually just to make sure that they are valid.

Regards Brad

Sorry I should have included the release.

Acade 2017

1) Never thought to have to list as Trusted the folder you are pointing to for templates. I thought that trusted folders was more for loading of programs and scripts. However, I will set that.

2) Yes I always browse to the locations of files when setting up the profiles.

3 and 4) ACADE has been closed and restarted several times as well as the PC.

5) Yes these files are valid. If you look at what I am saying it is that when the template files are in the native location all works well. All I do is copy, rename, and then point at the new location. The files themselves have not been changed.

So for 1) I just added my template location to trusted site but still get the same error (after restarting etc.)

Still the same results.

If I switch to the <<acade>> profile all works without error.

There is no difference in the template files, just the location and name.

Plus that error does not give you any direction as to what is causing it or where to fix the issue.

So I search that error an found a matching thread about it.

http://forums.autodesk.com/t5/autocad-electrical-forum/synchronization-was-not-successfully-complete...

In this tread it states to change the system variable AEEMXDATAUPDATEMODE to 1.

I did this and restarted Acade without the error.

While it is nice that I can make the error go away it does not answer the question as to why, renaming, coping, and re pointed to the new location for template files would cause this error to appear.

This is probably caused by a "bug" in the electromechanical workflow.

I've experienced it myself when changing some of the default paths in AutoCAD.

Try to type AEEMXDATAUPDATEMODE at the command line, and set it to 1.

My guess is that it'll fix it.

Yes that does fix it but it still leaves the question as to why a change in template location would have this effect.

Nobody knows 🙂 If you're not using the electromechanical workflow, it doesn't really matter 🙂

So is that system Variable per system or per user?

I need to set this on all the workstations.

Does anybody know the reg key for it?

That way I can set > export > and import to all the stations

Dohhhh, I was afraid if that.

From your screen shot it appears that this reg key is in the current user area.

Meaning that it would have to be set for each user and not globally.

Really need a means for setting this globally somehow.
