Add multi-point/multi-level terminal block level to terminal number

We use a lot of four point terminal blocks for power distribution (e.g. https://catalog.weidmueller.com/catalog/Start.do?localeId=en&ObjectID=2051500000)

I have the level descriptions set-up as A,B,C,D.  Is it possible to automatically add the level description to the terminal number, so that I can simply associate terminals together and not have to manually assign 1A, 1B, 2A, 2B, etc. to each level?

Arshdeep,

You're a legend, this is super helpful. I have a couple more questions if you don't mind:

1) Is there a way to represent jumpers on these terminals in this way? Perhaps editing the jumper chart to be more concise so it doesn't look like this (if I were to jumper the terminals together, see image below for an example).

2) Like I mentioned we use lots of 8-tier marshalling blocks which have 2 entry points per side and 2 sides, thus there are essentially 32 connection points per block. I can see how this method could be used to create the 8-tier marshalling block, but as I understand it, ACE will simply recognize all of these as the same thing and reference the wd_default_multiterminal.dwg file for either of these. So if I need to use both in a drawing, how can I get ACE to reference different files for each? And, are there even enough attributes for ACE to handle 32 wire connections?

EDIT: From playing around with it it seems like ACE handles the 32 wire connections fine, but something odd happens. The images below show my edit of the default_multiterminal file (left), and the preview on the TSE when I enter it. As you can see it all works perfectly.

However, see image below for what happens when I insert it.

Please let me know if you have any solution to this or the other questions above. Thanks for all the help!

Hello Niklas,

I will have to do some testing with the jumper table to see if I can come with something.

For the second question, Maybe catalog number can help to display unique terminals if I am understanding your question correctly. You can start using catalogs (terminal part number) and assign a unique footprint drawing to each part number instead of using the default wd_default_mutiterminal footprint drawing.

Check out the steps pdf on the solution to the post below to find out how to assign custom footprints to each catalog.

I don’t know if there is actually any limit on the number of wire numbers attributes, I think you simply keep going till 32 or more and it should keep working.
