Unable to add basic dormer

Hi All,

Happy New Year to you.

I'm using 2021 version of Autocad Architecture.

It's my first time at trying to add a basic dormer and for the life of me I cannot get it to work.

Help would be much appreciated. Basic DWG of what I am doing is attached. As far as I can tell the dormer structure is correct and cuts through the roof slab, but it just refuses to add as a dormer.

The error it gives is:

Walls are not connected.
Add dormer failed.
Make sure objects forming the dormer are closed and cut through full slab body.

I found, by using the default wall style that my actions worked and could create the dormer, the issue seems to be because I had the wall style set to  (because that's the wall style I'm using inside) and I presume it only works with 'external' walls styles or something like that anyway.
