Display units in the measure command

I am coming back into the AutoCAD world after years using Inventor, and I'm a bit frustrated with the units issues. We are using architectural dimensions, which is fine, but when I use the measure command, I would like to get a more precise number than just whatever the dimension style is. Is there a way to get the measure command to display results in a decimal format without having to change my dimension unit format?

Yes, those are separate settings.

LUPREC controls the precision of linear units displayed, while DIMDEC controls that on dimensions. AUPREC controls the precision of angular units displayed.
