Plot to PDF and Paper question

All,

For our presentations to customers and councils we provide a couple of viewports that have 3D views of the house rendered in realistic.  When plotting to PDF the images are good and present really well however when plotting to paper the images are awful and very low resolution.  I've never got to the bottom of this but where are the settings for the view ports when plotting to paper?  Is it the plotter under devices etc. or the page setup manager in ACAD or both?

Thanks

Ben

Ben,

I would check the default plotter settings in both the device and ACAD. It could also be the plotter driver. What type of plotter are you using? My own experience found it to be easier to plot to a PDF, and then send the PDF to the plotter. Regardless, the paper plots tend to be darker than on screen or PDF, so you may need to adjust accordingly.

In addition to what kfuhrman suggests, or if you still can't get the results you want, I've sometimes resorted to plotting the desired view to a high resolution jpg file (with a screen capture typically), and then inserting that jpg into my drawing, letting it show in the desired viewport.

Thanks for the reply kfuhrman01. I've checked the settings on the device and ACA and cannot find anything specific to make the quality of the viewport better. How come the plot to PDF comes out so good? The print to PDF option isn't really an option due to timescales and potential scaling issues. We're using an HP T520 24".
