Weird render issue

I sometime get a weird render result using Arnold (MtoA 5.1.1) on Maya 2023. I got a pretty simple scene of a kitchen and there is this straight forward kitchen block / cooking island that sometimes, but not always,  causes the render to lose control. The textures used on it are ordinary Aisurface textures with just a plain color or a jpg texture file. It's hard to explain so I include two examples, one as it sometimes comes out and one as it should be.

the failurethe failurelike it should looklike it should look

Once the issue occurs the only way to get rid of it seems to be to quit and restart Maya.

Anyone knows what's going on?

Are you using GPU or CPU to render?

Get rid of the image textures, and try. If the problem is solved, then it can be due to the color space of the image files.

Is the "cooking island" one object with multiple sahders or different objects?

I have to admit I made a bit of a mess of this mesh (adjustment after adjustment after adjustment.... 😄 ) since it was just for a quick example view. I rebuild it from scratch and now the render issue does not occur any longer. Thanks.
