Alias Design Marking Menu Slow

Alias Design marking menu is running very slow.  Experience lag of about 0.5 to 1 second between marking menu swipes/flicks. It doesn't sound like much but it feels like an eternity- I've always worked fast in Alias, never had this issue before in past 7 years.

Have you just upgraded?  How about Surface or AutoStudio?  Is it only when you have a large dataset?

It's a fresh install on a new computer. Using Alias Design specifically. The files are not large, maybe 40MB at the moment.  (i've worked with 1GB+ files in past with minimal slowdown so I don't think its the case here)

specs:  

Intel Core i7-7500U CPU @2.7GHz  2.9GHz 

16GB RAM

WIndows 10 64-bit 

800GB free space on the HDD

What king of graphics and have you updated to the latest driver?

ah, there was an update needed - updated now -- however after restart it's still sluggish. 

Nvidia gforce 940MX

driver: 21.21.13. 7719

Also I went into Nvidia control panel to make sure it's set to use the dedicated graphics card and not the intel one.

What version of Design is it?  How is the response when you use menus, shelves or palette items? For example for the Marking menu shelf itself?  Also what kind of license are you running?

can you also try to reset the software. Maybe some old preferences are causing the issue.

I'm having the same issue. Marking menu selections and view manipulation is super laggy. I've been using alias for 11 years and have never had this issue. Brand new workstation and install. The problem is causing the system to be about 2 clicks behind me, causing incorrect selections, moves, etc. super frustrating! 

Could this be a network/license ping issue?

If you are experiencing slow view manipulation, it's unlikely to be related to licensing.  What version os Alias, OS, and Graphics are you running?  I assume you've updated the graphics driver.  Also what is your "Draw Presision" set to (in your control panel under Quality).

Driver: 22.21.13.8205 on Quadro M6000

Interestingly I had a crash, and after I relaunched Alias the issue seems to be gone. Any idea what the issue could have been based on that?

When you say re-launch, do you mean fromthe msaved dialog box?

A little about your usage... Do you typically exit Alias during the day? How long do you typically run for.

I run Alias Design on a PC. I have the same issue with super slow marking menus but only on my home 4K HP display, no slowdown on my work display (Apple display) which is not a 4K display. Not sure if the 4K is the issue?

Are The menus actually slow to draw or is the tool slow to start?
