Dear Advance Steel Users,

 

This is a link with this request submitted before, and put in the archives because they do not think this is a pain in the neck for those who re-position

 

manually the labels on erection plans.

 

I ask everyone who had enough already to vote again either here or in the old post. 

 

All who had enough of this-please do not hesitate to raise your voice.

Hello,

AS2018, ALL default database, zero customization:

Attached are two sample erection plans, after changing connection clips sizes of the beam 'Ba11', label moved.

 

Please do stop moving of labels during detail update. I have to mention software is more stable now, but please-prevent labels from moving.

It is pretty sad when we have to put requests like these up for voting in the first instance. But to consistently get them refused...

It’s because this request has been repeated so many times that people fail to differentiate from a new thread to an existing one, therefore they don’t vote.

 

It is very sad that these concerns with regards to views, labels and dimensions are not being addressed, but rather ignored or put in the too hard basket. It’s even more of a worry as we all move to subscription model and your locked in.

 

Detail drawings are our final product.

I posted this again because I was told it is fixed with the new update, if it is not-to be reported, or something similar.

Please do not ignore our concerns with regards to views, labels and dimensions on Plan and detail drawings.

This is affecting our productivity and our competiveness in the market.  

Please address these issues.

Please assist us with real productivity gains. We are constantly forced to re-edit drawings simply because we are forced to update (see link requesting the option to ignore updates) and dimensions and labels keep moving, reappearing or disappearing...

 

We are judged on the output and quality of our drawings, as well as our ability to compete in a tight market, not our ability to create and share models.

We are apparently being ignored on many important basic functionality issues. I don't understand this ....

 

THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR YEARS!!!!!!

 

C'MON DEV TEAM....... FIX THIS ONCE AND FOR ALL!!!

 

I want to keep using Advance Steel for all of the great things that it has to offer but this issue is a productivity show stopper. We have purchased Tekla seats and are seriously thinking about dropping Advance Steel because of this. 

Please....fix this once and for all!!!!!

Hello,

 

Lets get the executives look at their employees' work.

 

Lets organize a meeting and put these issues together.

 

Advance is a great software, I am not switching to Tekla because of someones negligence.

 

I have a list with what, when and where was submitted, and the lousy answers I get.

 

I think a good beginning will be calling the Boston office.

Please don't missunderstand me, I think this is an important issue, but you create a second idea for this issue. This is not an idea, this is a bug, and bugs should not shown here. 


The idea forum is a great thing, but the people which have a look here only see, your entries, in which you wrote everytime the same things.

I believe Udo archieved your last thread because of that, the issue is known and the development is working on it, what should they do more?
You flood the idea forum with so many things, that the rest ideas are not recognized from the other users.

I think, Sebastian is right.
This idea forum should show the feature requests of the users to the development and the product management and display the priority of the respective feature request with the help of the Likes.
Error in Advance Steel, should be announced in the Autodesk Advance Steel support.
Then the Autodesk Advance Steel support has the job to analyse these errors and to forward the necessary information to this error to the development.

And one more word about Udo:
I know Udo already very long and he is one of the most conscientious people whom I know.
He makes here a really good job.
If he has archived this problem, he has discussed it certainly before with the development.
Of that I am sure.

No one puts a major issue in the archives with the words-no enough votes.

 

About the tech support-I have a log of issues  reported to them, and not reported to the dev's.

 

Chain was broken for many, many reported issues.

 

Udo does not know anything about steel detailing, that is for 100% sure.

If it is hard for you to follow the ideas, just do not follow them.

that's not right Ilko. And as I wrote in another thread, the internet is not free behavior room, I think we could communicate to each other with a little bit respect. And I know Udo for a few years and I know that your comment is not true. I don't know you in reality but I hope you are little bit sociable in real life to other people.

Sorry, but you lie completely wrong.
Udo knows a lot about steel detailing.
We have worked together many years in the steel detailing.
Before you permit a judgment to yourself about somebody, you should know that properly and know what he is able to do and has learnt.
You do not know it certainly.

I am trying to be more productive, I do not have my pay check from my employer.

As for the tech support, I was told just the opposite-that the best way to report is via the idea station.

 

Now this is not that simple.

-I know , because many of the improvements were done based on what the detailers say over the last 5-6-7 years, suggestion coming from down going up. Not the opposite.

 

Example-beam dwg style, column dwg style. This was discussed with Heiko in the past.

 

I can see what a person knows and what his or her experience is from the responses, how reacts to an established rule for example, something that is very basic here in USA, and not known in Europe.

 

Instead of listening to the  people who actually pay for the software  / their salaries, it is the opposite. It is ridiculous. 

 

We are at the front line.

 

We work with customers, we know what they want, and what they don't, and if Advance Steel sacks with something, last thing I want to hear is-this is not important, no enough votes.

 

I am not switching to other software. No way. I like Advance. But I do not like the way users have been treated. 

 

The ones who actually pay for it.
