grout under baseplate

I know I've done this before but can't remember how. I have a column with concrete 2" below. I select the baseplate command, and have the column shortened by the plate thickness, and also select the concrete element. I need there to be grout between baseplate and concrete. Help? More of a desire than a need but I know i've had it there before.

Hi,

in the joint properties/ BasePlate you can use shorten by value. The value to use is the grout thickness + the plate thickness.

Perhaps I didn't make my question very clear. I know how to shorten the beam, I want there to be grout. not just an open distance for grout.

Hi,

No grout can be created under the base plate using the out of the box macro, this was requested here:

https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/advance-steel-ideas/anchor-bolts-macro-base-plate-macro-improvements/...

As a workaround, fastest way is to insert a dynamic block from the ACAD Toolpalette, having a stretch point on one side, and hatch and bevel included.

Or combine base plate with grout in a connection template, but it is slower than using the dynamic block.

If this information was helpful, please use the Accept as Solution function, this makes it easier for other users.

If it is made of steel, I can model it and detail it.
