Create new round bar profile

I am attempting to create a new round bar profile for M12 threaded rod. This is what I have done:

  • Management Tools > Table Editor > Open Installed Databases
  • AstorProfiles > EXT_AS_NZS_Round
  • Select and copy the entry for 12mm round bar (RB 12)image.png
  • Go to last line in table and paste from clipboard
  • Edit the fields StandardName and SectionName
    image.png
  • Exit Management Tools and Update Defaults

So to summarise I have simply duplicated the entry for 12mm round bar and changed the section name.

All seems good except that when I model a rod and change the profile to my new entry the geometry disappears and only the system line is shown.

I also note that the icon on the properties dialog box changes from round bar to I section.

What have I done wrong?

Accepted solution

the mistake is to change the section name, this should be not done, just let it like it was, it will not shown in AS so just name it back to RMS12
