Advance Steel 2024 - can't open BOM Editor

After several successful days in AS 2024, I suddenly cannot open the BOM Editor. After creating the list, I get the following message:

my problem does not fall into the listed categories ... returning to the factory settings did not help, the only thing left is a new installation ... yet, many thanks

Before doing a fresh install try deleting the ASSettings_User.xml file located in C:\ProgramData\Autodesk\Advance Steel [version]\[LANG]\

Hi all,

I only get this error message if I work outside of our company network (e.g. HomeOffice with internet connection) and try to open the BOM Editor 

If I try to generate BOM via palette, the next error will be occured:

Hi @Karel_Grygar_EQOS,

From your error message it looks like your Windows Registry is missing required entries for a COM class that is part of Advance Steel.

Does your work outside of your company network mean moving to a different PC, or using the same PC on a different network ?

• If it's a different PC, you can try reinstalling Advance Steel 2024 to fix this issue.
• If it's the same PC, please ask your company IT specialist about any Active Directory or other settings that might affect your registry based on login.

many thanks for your feedback. It's the same PC on a different network. Can the problem be supported by the fact that I still have version 2022 parallel to 2024 installed (due to database migration)? Because one colleague also has both installations and the same problem, and colleagues only have no problems with 2024.

Please try to copy the following dlls:

• Xalan.Aec.dll
• XalanMessages.Aec.dll
• xerces-ad-c_3.dll

From C:\Program Files\Autodesk\AutoCAD 2024 to the C:\Program Files\Autodesk\AutoCAD 2024\ADVS folder.
Please let me know if this works for you.
