Currently, locating and reusing form “checklist” templates in ACC Build requires users to know which specific project the template originated from. This limits efficiency and creates duplication of effort, as many project teams spend many hours building detailed, high-quality checklists that could serve as excellent starting points for other projects.
In BIM 360 Field Classic, there was a very useful feature that allowed users to search templates across the entire company account. The search results displayed the template name, number of items in the checklist, project name, and project status—making it easy to find then import into a new project.
Proposed Improvements:
1. Global Search: Allow users to search form templates across all projects in the company account by keyword (e.g., “EIFS”).
2. Preview Function: Enable users to preview the checklist before importing it into their project, ensuring the content is relevant.
3. Template Metadata: Display useful information such as template name, number of items, project name, the template item specifics—similar to BIM 360 Field Classic.
4. Centralized ACC Library (Optional Add): Consider creating a vetted companywide library of form templates organized by CSI divisions and scopes, from which they could search, view and copy Form Templates to their projects, making it easier for teams to start with proven templates.
5. Bring back the Excel import and export functionality for sharing and importing Form Templates.
